About Me

NOTHING SHY ABOUT HER, my Civil War novella, is soon to be released as a solo ebook. As NO DECORUM, it was part of The Wild Rose Press anthology, NORTHERN ROSES AND SOUTHERN BELLES. Released in July 2009, it was a 2nd Place Finalist for the 2011 EPIC Award.                  Three of my prize winning short stories, PORTRAIT OF A MAN BURNING LETTERS, LOST CAJUN ROAD, and THE TURNING AROUND ROAD, have been published in literary journals. Portions of my unpublished novel, A MAN AT THE DOOR (formerly titled REACHING LITTLE ROCK) have placed in literary and romance contests.

My favorite writing group is SCANDALOUS VICTORIANS. We bring you the SLIP INTO SOMETHING VICTORIAN blog. Our membership reaches across Canada and includes California, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. It is my online home.

Another favorite blog group is AMERICAN CIVIL WAR: BEYOND SCARLETT AND RHETT.

One of my interests is SteamPunk fiction. Visit  http://ageofsteam.wordpress.com/ for a look at STEAMED! our new SteamPunk Blog.

Genealogy is important to me. My family tree provides most of my character’s names. That way, I’m always sure they were actually in use at the time of my stories. THEY CAME FROM EUROPE is my family website.

A native of Arkansas, I’ve lived in Dallas since 2003 in order to be near my daughter’s family – which includes my only grandchild!
